Our Story

Monroe's first brewery — and still proudly independent.

Southern Range opened its doors in May 2016 as the very first taproom in Monroe, North Carolina. What started as a husband-and-wife dream became a cornerstone of downtown — a 30-barrel brewhouse where Dustin dials in the recipes and designs the cans, and Elise keeps the taproom humming.

We've stayed small on purpose. No investors, no compromises — just full creative control over every batch. That freedom is why our beers carry names like Tiny Ass Umbrella and Ice Cube's A Pimp, and why no two taps ever feel the same.
